Responsibilities & Context

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

This position will be responsible for working in the camp with Community Groups, are playing the role of a “medium” between Community Group Members & Community General People.

  • Formulate and organise four voluntary groups (men, women, youth boys, youth girls) within the Rohingya community through FGDs, individual meetings, door-to-door engagement, and other participatory methods in line with protection principles

  • Maintain regular contact with group members through field visits, fostering good relationships and addressing community issues through consultation

  • Organize community led discussion (CLD) and conduct weekly meetings and awareness sessions on social, health, and other relevant issues, including observance of special days advised by UN and BRAC

  • Design, develop, and implement innovative community led initiative to enhance community engagement, build capacities, and strengthen participation at the camp level

  • Submit timely qualitative and quantitative reports on activities, including challenges, outcomes, and recommendations, to supervisors and donors

  • Plan and manage logistics and financial requisitions to ensure smooth implementation of voluntary projects

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, including Majhis, Imams, and teachers

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of team members, promoting and enforcing safeguarding policies and standards, and acting as a key source of guidance and support

  • Ensure the implementation of BRAC’s safeguarding and PSEA policies across all activities by promoting and practicing them, as well as providing guidance and support to maintain a safe and respectful working environment

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
