  • B.Sc. in Civil Engineering

Experience

    • At least 2 years

Additional Requirements

  • Age At least 25 years
  • Experience in the use of tablets & smartphones and associated software.   

  • Able to communicate in local language (Cox’s Bazar, Rohingya)·    

  • Knowledge of different data collection methodologies such as the KOBO toolbox.    

  • Positive attitude as a development worker, team worker and accommodative within the team at the community level along with development partners.    

  • Willingness to work in Refugee Camps.

  • Willingness to work under pressure during emergency response.


Responsibilities & Context

Purpose of this position:  

This is a fully field-based position that will be accountable for any kind of field-related activity under his/her area of responsibility.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assess shelter and site development needs and identify required resources to plan an appropriate and integrated response.

  • Apply participatory approaches throughout the program cycle by conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) to identify needs, gaps, and development priorities.

  • Identify suitable construction materials and techniques in line with project specifications, cost-effectiveness, environmental considerations, and local context.

  • Supervise and support field supervisors and construction supervisors by ensuring timely availability of materials at construction sites and coordinating day-to-day construction activities.

  • Oversee construction, repair, and maintenance activities related to shelter and site development in assigned camps, ensuring compliance with agreed standards and technical guidelines.

  • Plan and manage implementation of repair and maintenance measures to address emerging structural or site-related issues.

  • Provide continuous technical guidance and support to field supervisors, construction teams, and community members to ensure adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.

  • Maintain comprehensive labor consumption records for all camps and ensure proper documentation for timely and accurate payment of individuals.

  • Collect, compile, and manage all data related to labor and material usage across construction sites.

  • Draft and consolidate information received from camps and prepare regular, accurate, and comprehensive progress reports on shelter and site development activities.

  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the project team based on operational needs and project priorities.
