Additional Requirements

• Essential, diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architecture

Experience

• Essential five years of work experience in construction project management

• Desirable previous experience with MSF or other NGOs and working experience

• Essential demonstrate 5 years experience in management and supervision of Construction site , (work certificates)

• Essential demonstrate 5 years experience in planning until Tender phase, BoQ and Estimation (work certificates)

• Essential Demonstrate experience in structural calculations 2 years (work certificates)

• Essential knowledge of Bangladesh National building code (Work certificate or academy certificate)

• Plumbing and electrical installation design is desirable (Work certificate)

Language

• Both English and Bangla languages are essential, spoken and written.

Knowledge

• Computer literacy Proficient MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) essential

• Proficient user of Auto Cad certificate or diploma essential

• Revit user is an asset


Responsibilities & Context

Supervising and monitoring on a day-to-day basis the implementation of the building and rehabilitation activities in the project ensuring compliance of MSF standards, protocols and procedures. This includes the following tasks:

• Analyzing, according to customer requirements and MSF programs, the needs for construction/rehabilitation works and reporting to the line manager accordingly, in order to provide the necessary information to find an appropriate and efficient solution, including planning of (financial, technical, material and human) resources that meet the mission needs

• Supervising and following up through regular visits the work of construction and/or rehabilitation in progress, in order to ensure deadlines, budget and technical specifications and to early detect potential deviations

• Negotiating agreements and permissions for construction/ rehabilitation projects, establishing regular contacts with local authorities, in order to ensure all required documentation is filled upon and to avoid delays

• Organizing and supervising call for tenders (architect office, company tendering) activities in order to ensure the best technical and financial conditions

• Planning and supervising the HR processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation and internal, external communication) of the drivers and mechanics in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required for the activity

• Supervising and leading the logistic team under his/her responsibility including the definition of each person’s tasks (daily supervision and checking the quality of their work); drawing up working schedule; organising and leading team meetings

• Providing monthly activity reports and implementing reporting practices and protocols in order to ensure that all vehicle documentation is in order and inspection reports are filled in by the drivers

• Performing delegated tasks according to his her speciality and as specified in his/her job description.

Determine required resources, allocating resources, establishing protocols and standards, scheduling staff, resolving design problems, evaluating deadline estimates and adjusting as needed, and implementing change orders.

• Meet construction budget, identifying variances, and monitoring project expenses.

• Ability to manage and supervise multiple construction projects and meet deadlines.

• Meet operational standards by resolving problems, contributing information to strategic plans, and identifying improvements.

• Supervise sub-contractors, including evaluations & performance control.

• Preparing construction layout/drawing/design in Auto CAD 2D & 3D / Revit format and responsible for submitting the construction estimation accordingly.

• Ability to analyze the construction bid following the project standard and support in selecting the sub-contractors while needed.

• Responsible for providing support to various logistic teams.

• Maintain quality and stock of construction materials, tools, and resources.

• Complete record sheets and books related to construction before and after construction.

• Responsible for submitting the monthly construction plans, budget, and report to the line manager. Besides, need to assist in preparing the ACP & SCP of the construction.

• Ability to work under pressure and emergency situations with having a flexible intention at any time.


 

Compensation & Other Benefits

• This is a Permanent Contract position. Benefit

• Salary according to Level 06 of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 85500/- gross, before seniority and income tax deduction).

• Salary is not negotiable.

• 2 annual leave days per month worked.

• Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents.

• There is no provision for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.

Supervising and monitoring the implementation of the daily building and rehabilitation activities in the project, according to MSF standards, protocols and procedures in order to ensure the efficient running of the project.
