Job Description

Education

  • Bachelors in Physiotherapy from any UGC approved university or institute.
  • Masters degree will be preferred

Experience

Responsibilities & Context

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

This position will be responsible to implement interventions focused to support persons with disabilities in the Rohingya camps. S/he will be providing basic management and education for the persons with disabilities including keeping records and necessary analysis for the need of these services in the camp. S/he will also supervise the filed level activities including survey/ data collection related to support to persons with disabilities. The person will be responsible to maintain a functional coordination with different stakes in the camp, like; Camp in Charge, Site Management, Camp health Focal, and other partners working with persons with disabilities.

  • Assesses the person with disability and provides necessary care and assistive devices from Primary Healthcare Centres in the Rohingya Camps.

  • Timely submits the requirement of Assistive devices and other programmatic requirements.

  • Perform periodical home visit to the households of persons with disabilities/Geriatric patients if required.

  • Support and monitor field level activities (counseling, survey/data collection, referral) related to support for persons with disabilities.

  • Maintain proper stock of the materials.

  • Ensure distribution of necessary assistive devices to the persons with disabilities.

  • Referral of complicated cases to designated health centers.

  • Act as a focal point for the Health and Nutrition sector for the programs related to persons with disabilities.

  • Prepare and submit daily and monthly reports.

  • Attend meetings, seminar and workshop.

  • Maintain a functional coordination with different stakes in the camp (CiC, Site management, Camp health focal and other health partners).

  • Ensure effective coordination and communication within different projects under Health and Nutrition Sector.

  • Monitoring of partner activities implemented from Health Centres and in the community.

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
