  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics , Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

Experience

Additional Requirements

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English is must.

  • Understanding of the local Bangladesh market.

  • Understanding of retail display standards and customer behavior.

  • Experience with Modern Distribution & Retail Systems in Bangladesh.

  • Familiar with promotion channels: mobile SMS blasts, billboards, community events.

  • Ability to multitask and manage timelines under tight project deadlines.

  • Proficiency in office suite.


Responsibilities & Context

A leading international convenience store chain and one of the largest in its home country is entering Bangladesh retail market through a joint venture with Kazi Farms Limited. With an ambitious vision to set new benchmarks in retail customer experience, the project is currently in its pre-opening phase. To be part of this exciting journey, we are seeking a competent Executive/Sr. Executive, Category Planning to oversee and coordinate all functions in close collaboration with both the international project team and local stakeholders.

Job Purpose:

The Executive/ Sr. Executive, Category Planning is responsible for analyzing and optimizing store planograms and product mixes to maximize sales performance and profit margins. This role ensures that product displays are practical, easy to implement by store teams and aligned with current product trends. By working closely with teams, the person supports strategic product placement and helps guide brand principals to become effective category captains contributing to improved in-store execution and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and decide appropriate placement and display capacity for new or leased products in stores.

  • Analyze and control data to ensure display outputs and system entries are accurate and in accordance with merchandising standards.

  • Design and determine rack layouts by store format/type, aligning with display guidelines and maximizing visual impact.

  • Review space allocation in planograms to ensure efficient use of shelf space based on product sales and performance.

  • Conduct regular reviews and updates of product classifications, tags, and layout changes to maintain relevance and maximize sales effectiveness.

  • Coordinate with the Promotions and Merchandise teams to ensure timely updates (review new products, tag changes,and category adjustments) and accuracy in product display during promotional periods.
