Job Description

Education

  • Masters
  • A Master’s degree in Education, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field is required. Specialized training in education policy, inclusive education, child protection, or program management is highly desirable. The candidate should have a strong understanding of national education systems, global education frameworks, and humanitarian response standards. Proven experience in designing and managing education programs, along with training in monitoring and evaluation, advocacy, and safeguarding, is essential.

Required Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in designing, managing, and leading education programs in development and/or humanitarian contexts, preferably within an INGO or UN agency. Proven expertise in strategic planning, technical leadership, and program quality assurance in the education sector is essential. Experience in engaging with government stakeholders, donors, and education networks is required. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and integrate child protection and safeguarding into education programming is highly desirable.

Required Language(s):

  • Fluency in English is essential, with strong written and verbal communication skills for technical writing, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in Bangla is highly desirable for effective collaboration with local partners, government counterparts, and community-level stakeholders.

Required travel and/or work environment accommodations:

  • This position is based at the National Office in Dhaka, with an expectation of up to 20% travel to project areas across the country.
  • Successful candidate is expected to demonstrate full compliance with World Vision’s Core Values, all relevant organizational policies, and the Child Protection Policy.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of inclusive education, early grade learning, education policy, and child protection integration is highly desirable. Familiarity with national education systems, global education frameworks (e.g., SDG 4, INEE Minimum Standards), and donor requirements is an asset. Proven ability to influence policy, engage in high-level advocacy, and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships will be advantageous. Experience with digital learning solutions and innovation in education programming is a plus.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

To lead strategic education initiatives that transform the lives of the most vulnerable children in Bangladesh by ensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality learning opportunities. The Education Lead drives evidence-based programming, strengthens systems, and fosters innovation and collaboration to empower children to reach their full potential and break the cycle of poverty.

The Education Lead will provide strategic leadership and technical direction for World Vision Bangladesh’s education programme initiatives under the Integrated Programme Framework (IPF) and core education project interventions. This role manages education portfolios, supports program implementation, and ensures quality through capacity building, coaching, and alignment with global standards. It also includes oversight of education in emergency contexts and collaboration with internal teams and field staff.

The Lead strengthens partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, CSOs, and education networks, ensuring local program impact informs national advocacy. By connecting grassroots work to policy-level engagement, the role drives sustainable change for vulnerable children through inclusive, quality education.

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Education Strategy aligned with the Country Strategic Plan, ensuring cross-departmental coordination and managing associated risks.

  • Develop key advocacy messages based on evidence, research, and program learning in collaboration with the PDQA team.

  • Foster strategic partnerships with government, donors, NGOs, and education networks to promote inclusive, quality education and influence policy.

  • Design and oversee high-quality, evidence-based education programs, integrating child protection and safeguarding standards.

  • Build staff and partner capacity on child protection and ensure robust safeguarding mechanisms are in place.

  • Support proposal development, donor engagement, and produce quality reports and documentation of best practices.
