Responsibilities & Context
- Operate and maintain sophisticated instruments and equipment in the laboratory.
- Set up, calibrate, maintain, operate, and shut down laboratory instruments.
- Collect, receive, label, and sort samples (blood, urine, etc.).
- Design and execute laboratory work and sample preparation following standard procedures.
- Conduct experiments under controlled conditions to verify or reject various types of samples using scientific methods.
- Organize and store chemicals, liquids, and compressed gases according to safety guidelines.
- Accurately record all data and results, then submit them to the authorized consultant.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety rules and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Conduct continuous research related to laboratory procedures and advancements.
- Train and orient new medical technologists on test performance and interpretation.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and quality laboratory testing that meets customer needs.
