Responsibilities & Context

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

This position will oversee the warehouse operations, manage inventory and ensure compliance with organizational policies and safeguarding standards. Additionally, the role requires the delivery of goods to various project sites under the Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme (HCMP) of BRAC within the assigned operational areas.

  • Receive, inspect, and issue store materials with accurate record-keeping; maintain management-wise inventory and delivery sheets separately.

  • Ensure proper store operations, including safe receiving, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods, maintaining registers as per Purchase Orders (PO).

  • Prepare Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) upon receipt of goods and ensure proper file management of all supporting documents (Waybill, Challan, PO, GRN, etc.).

  • Update ledger books and BIN cards daily after dispatch and receipt of goods; maintain labour registers and supervise labour for efficient operations.

  • Maintain updated store ledgers and assist the Warehouse Supervisor in preparing weekly, monthly and yearly stock statements.

  • Execute all warehouse operational activities, including dispatching materials per IMS software requisitions and arranging transportation for timely delivery.

  • Conduct inventory receipt quality checks with the Quality team to ensure the quality, quantity, and specification compliance of materials received.

  • Issue materials based on approved Supply Requests (SR) and support in the submission of monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventory and project closing reports.

  • Securely maintain goods in the warehouse and ensure regular cleaning, pest control activities, and safety measures to protect inventory from rodents and other damages.

  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective use of dumper transport by planning requisitions at least one day before material delivery.

  • Plan warehouse space allocation in advance before receiving any cargo to ensure smooth inventory handling and storage.

  • Foster close collaboration with Procurement, Finance, Admin, and Logistics teams for smooth warehouse and inventory operations.

  • Submit daily warehouse closing reports and weekly CC camera monitoring reports to the supervisor for warehouse tracking and security.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
