Choose an available method you can reliably access.
- Open Account & security and find Add a two-factor method.
- Choose an offered authenticator, email-code or verified-phone method.
- Enter your current password and choose Start setup.
- Follow the authenticator setup or delivered-code instructions, then enter the verification code.
- Choose Confirm and enable and check that the method is active.
- Store the shown backup codes privately offline; use Download codes if offered and keep the file secure.
A method is not enabled until verification succeeds. Backup codes work once; replacing them invalidates previous unused codes. Never share the authenticator secret, setup URI or backup codes with support.
