Responsibilities & Context

Job Context:

The position is responsible for assisting Community Services in planning, implementation and supervision of all secondary level eye hospitals (SLEH) of IIEI&H and interfacing regularly with related staff members of the main hospital in relation to operational activities. S/he is required to keep the Supervisor, Community Services updated on the operational issues of SLEHs. S/he also needs to maintain functional relationship with concerned clinical and non-clinical department to ensure effective and efficient implementation of quality eye care services at the community level hospitals and outreach services in the community. S/he needs to maintain a congenial collaboration with the partners and the other organizations.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Organize, control, and coordinate services of primary level eyecare centers (PLEC) as per the service rules of IIEI&H.

  • Assist to organize and mobilize community for outreach services.

  • Coordinate with team members and volunteers to facilitate the community mobilization.

  • Communicate with local administrator, government offices, local bodies and any other important 3rd parties.

  • Reach out to community people and create awareness among them about the eye care and our initiatives.

  • Identify people whom needed eye refraction and further support for treatment.

  • Identify appropriate location and places for new service delivery points (SDPs).

  • Implement security policies, regulations, rules & norms and make sure that the environment of the secondary hospitals are safe for employees and patients.

  • Oversee patient screening camps and other community activities at the grass root level.

  • Look After staff performance management and staff improvement.

  • Perform any other tasks as and when assigned by the authority.
