Job Description

Education

  • Diploma
  • Diploma in Pharmacy from a government-approved institution.
  • Valid registration from the Bangladesh Pharmacy Council

Experience

    • At least 2 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Pharmaceutical/Medicine Companies

Additional Requirements

At least 2 years of experience working as a Pharmacist/Pharmacy Assistant, preferably in a health project/programme.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure proper storage, temperature control, and handling of pharmaceuticals as per guidelines.

  • Maintain updated stock registers, bin cards, and electronic inventory records.

  • Monitor stock levels, initiate timely requisitions, and prevent stock-outs or overstocking.

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and timely in compliance with standard dispensing protocols.

  • Provide counselling to clients on dosage, administration, side effects, contraindications, drug interactions, and storage of medicines.

  • Maintain smooth supply and inventory management of necessary medicine and medical supplies and consumables.

  • Promote adherence to treatment plans and support patient understanding of rational drug use.

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure respectful, client-friendly service.

  • Ensure FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) and proper batch tracking.

  • Perform any other tasks, responsibilities and assignments as and when necessary or determined by the higher authority/supervisor

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
