Additional Requirements

Technical Competencies

  • Good understanding of pipeline systems, sanitary mechanisms, and bathroom fittings.

  • Practical knowledge of mechanical appliances commonly used in commercial facilities.

  • Knowledge of plumbing safety standards and maintenance procedures.

  • Ability to communicate in English and Bangla.  

Behavioral Competencies 

  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, honesty, and discipline.

  • Team-oriented and committed to ensuring smooth facility operations.   

 

Education/Experience:                   

  • Minimum: Trade Course in Plumbing / SSC.

  • 2–5 years of experience in plumbing operations in a commercial or healthcare environment preferred.

  • Vocational training in plumbing is an added advantage.


Responsibilities & Context

1. Installation of Pipelines and Sanitary Fixtures

  • Install water and sanitary pipelines as per supervisor instructions and approved plans.

  • Install taps, wash basins, showers, toilet flush systems, urinals, commodes, and other sanitary fixtures.

  • Ensure all installed apparatus and fixtures remain in safe and usable condition.

 

2. Maintenance Works and Troubleshooting

  • Clean pipelines, overhead tanks, and water-logged areas at scheduled intervals.

  • Replace defective plumbing items with functional ones.

  • Identify faults in pipelines, hot water lines, and sanitary systems and perform primary troubleshooting.

  • Escalate major issues to the appropriate authority for further action.

 

3. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare daily work reports and update supervisors.

  • Maintain the Employee Log Book, recording significant plumbing operations.

  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

 

4. Support to Departmental Operations

  • Respond promptly to emergency alarms from engineering plants.

  • Attend maintenance-related calls received at the call center and forward them to concerned staff.

  • Verify gate passes issued by authorized personnel for equipment leaving hospital premises.

  • Monitor and look after the automated pump plant when required.

The Plumber is responsible for performing all plumbing-related installations, maintenance, and repair works within the hospital premises, ensuring safe and uninterrupted water and sanitation services at all times.
