Responsibilities & Context
Role Summary
The Head of Research & Development (R&D) will lead the strategic direction, innovation, and scientific excellence of the company’s R&D function. This role is responsible for driving new product development, analytical research, technology transfer, regulatory-compliant documentation, and continuous improvement to ensure a strong and competitive product pipeline. The position requires a visionary leader with deep pharmaceutical expertise and the ability to manage multidisciplinary scientific teams.
Key Responsibilities

Define and execute the company’s long-term R&D strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market needs.

Manage all phases of product development – from early research, preclinical studies, formulation, and scale-up to final regulatory submission.

Ensure all R&D activities adhere to national and international regulatory requirements (International & local regulatory authorities).

Drive innovation by adopting new scientific technologies, methodologies, and platforms to enhance productivity and quality.

Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Management department to ensure seamless product development and launch.

Develop high-performing scientific teams; foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation.

Prepare and manage R&D budgets, optimize resource allocation, and ensure cost-effective project execution.

Prioritize research projects, set timelines, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of milestones and deliverables.

Establish and manage collaborations with academic institutions and scientific partners to support research objectives.

Review scientific data, assess risks, and make evidence-based decisions to advance the development pipeline.
