Education

  • B.Pharma / 4-year Diploma in Pharmacy recognized by the Bangladesh Pharmacy Council.
  • Valid registration with the Bangladesh Pharmacy Council.

Additional Requirements

  • Age At most 35 years
  • Minimum 2 years of practical working experience in a pharmacy setting.

  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-oriented approach.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and pharmacy management software.

Responsibilities & Context

Job Summary:

  • We are looking for a highly responsible and detail-oriented Assistant Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy department at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital PLC (BSH). The Assistant Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, ensuring accurate drug information, adhering to regulatory standards, and providing exceptional customer service to patients. 

Key Description:

  • Dispense medications according to doctor’s prescriptions.

  • Prepare patient bills and provide accurate receipts.

  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of medications to inpatient services.

  • Advise patients and healthcare practitioners on drug indications, contraindications, dosage, interactions, and side effects, offering appropriate pharmaceutical information.

  • Handle the dispensing of Narcotic Drugs in accordance with prescriptions.

  • Maintain and manage pharmaceutical stock, ensuring proper storage and handling.

  • Comply with safety standards, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

  • Perform administrative duties such as answering calls, receiving and entering prescription orders, operating cash registers, and replenishing inventory.

  • Assist in ordering and purchasing pharmaceutical and medical supplies.

  • Receive and cross-check medicine deliveries from the central store against requisition lists and invoices.

  • Provide regular updates to the department in charge regarding stock levels, maintaining FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation.

  • Mark the names and expiry dates of medicines on cartons before restocking shelves or cabinets.

  • Support the Incharge with requisition lists and monthly reporting tasks.

  • Document the time of receipt and cross-check deliveries to avoid dispensing errors.

  • Collaborate with the head of Pharmacy to prepare the monthly action plan for the inpatient pharmacy.

  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
