Education

  • Marketing and public reIations skills.
  • Experience in art sales and Management.

Responsibilities & Context

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement business strategies aligned with the gallery’s vision and artistic goals.
  • Collaborate with the CEO/Director to plan exhibitions, events, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Set performance targets and monitor gallery performance metrics (sales, visitor growth, partnerships, etc.).

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations including exhibitions, art handling, logistics, and gallery maintenance.
  • Supervise operational departments such as administration, finance, HR, and marketing.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between curatorial, sales, and technical teams.
  • Maintain operational excellence in visitor experience, gallery ambiance, and service standards.

Financial Oversight

  • Manage budgeting, cost control, and financial planning.
  • Review revenue streams from art sales, exhibitions, memberships, sponsorships, and events.
  • Ensure financial transparency and timely reporting to management or board.

Human Resources & Team Development

  • Supervise staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Build a strong internal culture that encourages creativity, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Oversee contracts for artists, curators, vendors, and event partners.

Exhibition & Program Support

  • Support curatorial teams in planning and executing exhibitions and special programs.
  • Coordinate logistics for installation, shipping, insurance, and artwork conservation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and legal requirements related to artwork handling.

Marketing & Public Relations

  • Oversee marketing campaigns, digital presence, and public engagement strategies.
  • Strengthen relationships with collectors, patrons, sponsors, and cultural institutions.
  • Represent the gallery at art fairs, cultural events, and media opportunities.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, contracts, and intellectual property laws.
  • Manage insurance coverage for artwork, staff, and property.
  • Implement risk management and disaster recovery procedures.

Innovation & Growth

  • Identify opportunities for gallery expansion, collaborations, and new business models (e.g., online exhibitions, NFT art, art leasing).
  • Promote digital transformation and technology adoption in gallery operations.
