Job Description

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in any discipline preferably in social science/Social welfare/ Psychology/Anthropology/Law/Gender studies.
  • Post graduate degree

Experience

    • At least 3 years

  • Clear Understanding on the issues project has to work on.

  • Knowledge on the Rohingya Refugee Crisis and Response.

  • Good conceptual and practical skill to design proposals and concept notes.

  • Good knowledge and skills in budget forecasting and tracking.

  • Good training or facilitation skills.

  • Community engagement and participation.

  • Good communication and networking skills.

  • Ability to speak Chittagong/Rohingya Bengali, English both written and verbal is an added advantage.

  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation 

  • Ability to work under stressful condition and update to local culture and situation


Responsibilities & Context

The Gender & Disability Inclusion Officer ensures the effective integration of gender and disability inclusion within the Child Protection, Nutrition, and Livelihood Project in the Rohingya refugee camp. This role enhances project impact by promoting equitable access to services and opportunities for women, children, and individuals with disabilities.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing inclusive strategies, monitoring progress, and documenting best practices. The officer will design and deliver training sessions for staff, volunteers, and community members to improve their understanding and implementation of inclusion principles.

Additionally, the officer will engage in partnership, networking, and advocacy, building relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and community groups to support inclusion initiatives and advocate for vulnerable people rights and needs. The officer will manage the financial aspects of inclusion activities, ensuring efficient resource allocation and budget oversight. This role ensures that project interventions are inclusive, equitable, and impactful, enhancing the well-being and resilience of the Rohingya refugee community.

Project Implementation & Management:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement gender and disability inclusion strategies tailored to the Rohingya refugee context.

  • Project Oversight: Ensure all project activities are inclusive and accessible, aligning with gender and disability inclusion standards.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Regularly monitor project activities to ensure compliance with inclusion policies, documenting progress, and impact.

  • Coordination: Work closely with project teams to integrate inclusion practices into all project components, including child protection, nutrition, and livelihoods.

  • Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed reports on inclusion initiatives, project progress, and outcomes.

Technical and Capacity building:

  • Training: Develop and conduct training sessions for project staff, volunteers, and community members on gender and disability inclusion.

  • Resource Development: Create and disseminate resources and tools to support inclusive practices within the project.

  • Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical assistance to project teams to enhance their capacity to address gender and disability issues effectively.

  • Best Practices: Identify and promote best practices in gender and disability inclusion within the project and broader community.

Partnership, Networking & Advocacy:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, NGOs, and community groups, to support inclusion initiatives.

  • Advocacy: Advocate for gender and disability inclusion at local, regional, and national levels, representing the project in relevant forums.

  • Collaboration: Work with partners to identify opportunities for collaboration and leverage resources to enhance project impact

Financial Management Budget control and Monitoring:

  • Budget Oversight: Manage the budget allocated for gender and disability inclusion activities, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial reports, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.

  • Resource Allocation: Monitor and control financial resources to support inclusion initiatives, adjusting as necessary to meet project goals.
