Responsibilities & Context
Project Overview:
THE EARTH is a youth-led NGO. Our goal is to enhance and ensure sustainable development of Bangladesh. We aim to provide knowledge, resources, and care to support each community to reach its maximum potential and achieve greater harmony between people and the planet. The major focus area of The Earth is Youth development through various engagement, skill & entrepreneurship development and engaging youth to become responsive and combat Climate Change.
Increased equitable access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities: Considering the varying vulnerabilities and needs of adolescent girls and young women, the project will have interventions for adolescent girls between ages 13-16 who are in, and out of, school as well as targeted interventions for young women between the age of 17-25 who are not in school, In short Promotion of Women’s Empowerment and Resilience building (POWER) Project.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Implementation: Execute field-level activities in alignment with the project plan, ensuring successful delivery of all project components.
Community Relations: Foster strong relationships with community members and maintain effective communication and coordination with government bodies, NGOs, private sector partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
Networking: Establish and strengthen networks to enhance collaboration and resource sharing among stakeholders.
Reporting & Supervision: Regularly supervise the Social Mobiliser and Community Volunteer and project intervention and report to the Respective line Manager and authorities.
The position is accountable for the following:
Project Management & Leadership:
Provide overall Promotion of Women’s Empowerment and Resilience building (POWER) Project at Kishoregonj District and staff leadership, management, quality control, and technical direction, while ensuring compliance with Save The Children, UNICEF and The Earth requirements and regulations and Counterpart policies and procedures. Promote an equitable, women-friendly, and gender-sensitive work environment.
Project Leadership & Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the POWER project, liaising with stakeholders (including team members, external partners, The Earth POWER team, partner organizations, and Adolescent Club, SMC, Male Champion Groups to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Financial Management:
Stewarding annual targeted budget for 12 months, ensuring organizational and SCI and UNICEF compliance, scrutinizing monthly finances, and correcting discrepancies.
Monitoring, team building & performance management:
Managing the day to day operations of project by facilitating professional work process to ensure alignment with the established policies & procedures and in order to high performance standards. And dynamic team build by increasing workforce development & performance management.
Coordination & Communication:
Coordinating with local and partners and other relevant stakeholders, such as civil society organizations, and respective government (DEO, UEO, DYD) authorities, SMC (school management committee) Adolescent & women’s club, entrepreneur groups, District level chambers of commerce, Managed internal & external stakeholder communication effectively through inquiries, reports, presentations, and maintaining open channels.
Interdepartmental Collaboration:
Fostering seamless program execution through strong collaboration and resource coordination with Finance, Procurement, MEAL, and Program Teams.
Reporting and Compliance:
Managing all reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance with donor & internal needs, and comprehensive documentation.
Project Planning & Execution:
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures, task dependencies, resource allocation, and timelines, milestones, and compliance standards. Coordinate project activities and track deliverables to ensure timely completion and quality.
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
Monitor project progress, proactively identify potential risks and issues, and develop contingency plans to mitigate them. Conduct periodic project evaluations to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements, define objectives and deliverables. Organize and facilitate project meetings (including agendas, minutes, and action items). Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.
Capacity Building & Support:
Provide need-based support to The Earth POWER team (Community Volunteers & Social Mobiliser), partner organizations, and adolescent based on the project strategy and action plan. Lead capacity-strengthening. Empower communities through project activities, fostering active participation in entrepreneurships development, STEM & SEL sessions, workshops and seminars.
Establish linkages with relevant government and NGO organizations to enhance community resources.
Cultivate community leaders to support ongoing development efforts.
Foster young entrepreneurs within the community, providing guidance and support for their growth.
Team Management:
Manage and supervise project personnel/team & consortium partners by ensuring conflict resolution with a focus on achieving objectives and results in a timely manner and on budget
