Must-Have Skills:
- Strong experience with Linux (Ubuntu) Administration, Tomcat, Java application deployment and JVM performance tuning.
- Hands-on expertise with Docker, Portainer, and Docker Swarm.
- Proficiency in Ansible & Rundeck for automation and configuration management.
- Solid understanding of Zabbix and Grafana for monitoring and alerting.
- Experience with vSphere and virtualization technologies.
- Proven production experience with quick incident response and root cause analysis.
Nice-to-Have:
- Kubernetes, Postgres DB
- Experience with horizontal and vertical scaling of web applications.

Responsibilities & Context
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Linux System Engineer with strong Linux (Ubuntu) system administration background to join a German based e-commerce company with English Fluency (English fluency is a must). This role involves managing Java-based applications, containerized infrastructure, and monitoring systems with a strong focus on stability, scalability, and rapid incident response. The role is having shifting duty to cover 24/7 support with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Customer support for critical production Linux systems, including immediate resolution.
- Manage and troubleshoot Java applications, especially related to JVM settings (e.g., -Xmx, heap tuning).
- Diagnose issues such as application crashes and resolve via restarts, resource tuning, or configuration updates.
- Monitor and manage containerized deployments using Docker, Docker Swarm, and Portainer.
- Automate infrastructure and deployment tasks with Ansible & Rundeck.
- Continuously monitor system performance and alerts using Zabbix, Grafana, and related observability tools.
- Administer virtualized environments using VMware vSphere
- Collaborate with teams & Customers to ensure reliable and efficient infrastructure performance.
