    The Context :<\/p>\n
    The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is implementing the European Union and European Commission PROACT project Bangladesh: \u201cResilience Strengthening through Agri-Food Systems Transformation in Cox\u2019s Bazar\u201d. The objective of the project is to improve food security, increase nutritional levels and improve incomes among farming households in Cox\u2019s Bazar Sador, Ramu, Ukhiya and Teknaf sub-districts of Cox\u2019s Bazar district. The project will support crop production, fish farming and sustainable toxin-free dried fish production with underlying support for value chain development, market access and better incomes, including business and financial literacy.<\/p>\n
    \u00a0Purpose of job<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
    The overall objective of this assignment is to identify, assess, and recommend innovative, climate-smart, and locally appropriate fish drying technologies that are technically feasible, affordable, and ready for pilot implementation in Cox\u2019s Bazar.<\/p>\n
    Responsibilities:<\/p>\n

    Develop an inception report entailing a desk review report: literature review and methodology on primary data collection and work plan including primary data sources. Inception report includes questions for interviews, questionnaire for quantitative data, others if needed, etc.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Prepare data collection tools and techniques both quantitative and qualitative for the assessment and validate them with Mukti Cox’s Bazar and FAO<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Obtain necessary ethical clearances and institutional permissions if applicable<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Conduct a pilot\/field test of tools before full-scale data collection<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Collect data ensuring data quality<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Organize validation workshop at Cox\u2019s Bazar with the relevant stakeholders such as but not limited to workers, traders, processors, retailers, toxic free dried fish retailers, relevant government officials, chamber of commerce, NGO and UN officials. Present the draft report in the workshop for feedback.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Incorporate feedback from the validation workshop and finalize the assessment report<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Prepare user-friendly capacity development training module (in English and Bangla) tailored to the literacy levels and practical needs of end users.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Submit the final report of the assessment, including all clean data set.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
