Responsibilities & Context
- Operates and maintains sophisticated instruments.
- Properly set up, calibrate, maintain, operate, and shut down such instruments.
- Receiving, labelling, and sorting the sample (blood, urine, etc.).
- Designed and executed laboratory work and sample preparation according to standard procedure.
- Work with possibly infected samples on a daily basis.
- Using proper sterilization and safety techniques in the laboratory is essential.
- Conducting experiments under defined conditions to verify or reject various types of samples using scientific laboratory methods.
- Organizing and storing all chemicals, liquids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
- Maintain results accurately and responsibly on the forms given, and then give them to the authorized consultant.
- Maintaining equipment and assisting in ordering laboratory supplies.
- Make sure that all safety rules are followed at all times and that the place stays clean and organized.
- Continuous researching laboratory-related information.
- Trains and orientates new biochemists in the performance and interpretation of tests.
- To ensure that laboratory testing is accurate, timely, and meets customers needs.
