Responsibilities & Context
Job Summary:
The OT Technician/Assistant at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital is a key member of the surgical team, responsible for preparing and maintaining the Operation Theatre to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures. This role involves technical support, patient assistance, equipment management, and strict adherence to hospital protocols and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and the OT environment.

Assist with patient positioning and anesthesia preparation.

Ensure proper functioning of OT equipment, including lights, suction units, anesthesia machines, and gas supply systems.

Monitor availability and condition of IV fluids, blood products, and emergency drugs.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the OT before and after procedures, including fumigation when necessary.

Support surgical teams during operations and provide necessary tools and assistance.

Maintain accurate records of surgical supplies, drugs, and patient details as per hospital protocols.

Follow biomedical waste disposal procedures in compliance with hospital guidelines.

Conduct routine checks and minor maintenance of OT equipment.
