Responsibilities & Context
-
Fabricate and assemble mechanical parts, components, and support structures using cutting, welding, grinding, and machining operations in the engineering workshop.

Operate workshop machines such as lathe, drilling, and welding equipment safely and efficiently.

Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of workshop tools, utility components, and fabricated equipment.
-
Support breakdown maintenance by repairing and preparing spare parts (e.g., shafts, couplings, brackets) as per specifications.
-
Assist in the reconditioning and overhauling of pumps, agitators, valves, and other mechanical components.
-
Modify and improve equipment parts and utility accessories based on operational requirements and engineering feedback.

Maintain proper documentation of all workshop activities, fabrication jobs, and repair history in compliance with GMP and GDP standards.

Ensure workshop cleanliness, proper tool storage, and adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) protocols.
-
Coordinate with maintenance, production, and project teams to support new installations, shutdowns, or equipment relocations.
-
Train junior technicians or helpers on safe machine operation, fabrication techniques, and good workshop practices.

To complete any other job assigned by the supervisor or workshop in-charge.
