Within the BRAC family of entities, BRAC Global – encompassing the BRAC Global Board and Secretariat team, led by the BRAC Global Executive Director – coordinates and supports BRAC entities on issues that have organisation-wide implications. BRAC Global aims to provide coherence and a coordinated approach to priorities and concerns shared across BRAC entities, including partnerships and fundraising, communications, risk management, people and culture, and knowledge and learning, in close collaboration with BRAC entity leadership

 

Job Purpose:

The Manager, Global Initiatives will drive the effectiveness, coordination, and impact of OneBRAC Committees, with a focus on the Communications Committee. The role partners closely with Committee Chairs, BRAC Global colleagues, and the OneBRAC executive to ensure committees operate efficiently, decisions are implemented, and cross-committee collaboration is strengthened. The Manager may also lead selected workstreams to achieve committee objectives. Beyond committee work, the role supports the advancement of priority Global initiatives and special projects, contributing to diverse thematic areas such as technology, AI, and advocacy. The position requires a proactive, analytical, and entrepreneurial mindset, with strong writing and organizational skills to deliver high-quality work across multiple priorities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The Manager has primary responsibility for the following functions related to the Communications Committee, and may support additional OneBRAC Committees as required. This includes:

  • Owning the full Communications committee meeting cycle: planning schedules, managing member availability, preparing agendas, and ensuring timely circulation of materials

  • Producing prompt, high-quality minutes and action points within one working week of meetings, and maintaining clear action trackers

  • Maintaining strong knowledge-management practices, including committee records, membership lists, decision logs, and document repositories on Google Drive and Asana

  • Supporting Committee Chairs to develop presentations, quarterly updates, and strategic materials that communicate key insights and recommendations

  • Manage the full Communications Committee meeting cycle, including scheduling, member coordination, agenda preparation, and timely circulation of materials.

  • Coordinate cross-committee communication by preparing updates, gathering feedback on linked initiatives, and supporting strategic alignment across committees.

  • Generate regular bi-annual internal assessments highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for BRAC Global leadership.

  • Support Partner with Committee Chairs and BRAC Global leadership to define new workstreams and develop core documents.

  • Assist Committee Chairs in preparing presentations, quarterly updates, and strategic communications materials that convey key insights and recommendations.

  • Contribute to special initiatives aligned with organisational priorities, including Artificial Intelligence, organisational technology use and policy, central knowledge repositories, advocacy, positioning and learning, and resource mobilisation.

  • Coordinate and execute annual retreats and OneBRAC events, managing logistics, communications, operations, and follow-up actions.

  • Any other duties as assigned by Committee Chairs to support OneBRAC priorities.

 

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of programme participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

 

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies or Social Science.

 

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the development sector in a coordination or support role.
