Responsibilities & Context

This position is responsible to assist the Assistant Technical Specialist on Implementation of shelter activities of the Play to Learn 2.0 Project’s: Advancing Scalable Solutions to Transform the Lives of Children on the Move repair, maintenance, renovation, reconstruction of the center and wash facilities including supportive supervision of project staffs in his/her assigned working areas expending times/days to 90% in fields and 10% in official works.

Detailed and complete plan for proper implementation of the total work (collection of all related drawings, gathering idea from respective designers, work/time schedule making, site survey, estimation/ cross checking estimates along with BOQ, making material supply schedule, searching construction materials nearby, providing layout with designed set back, recommendation for contractor)

To ensure smooth progress as per drawing/ design, specification, work schedule during construction period to complete in time (start on time, keeping material supply chain, providing required drawing/ decision/ methodology to contractors, ensuring required work force, ensuring good and safe working space, measurement of daily works in measurement book)

To supervise all the works staying at site during construction for proper quality (regular monitoring, giving feedback to contractors, receiving feedback from supervisors, rectifying defects instantly, sharing with supervisors for any confusion/ clarifications)

To utilize optimum money for maximum satisfaction with limited budget (team work in procuring, good storing system, misuse controlling, systematic dispatch of goods from store, recycling of goods/ materials, recommending genuine bills for work/ goods/ service)

Keeping all required records/ documents/ instructions at project site (writing daily project report, keeping all drawings, designs, specifications, sample, meeting minutes, rate approvals, manuals, stock/ cash/ stock etc., instruction books, contractor’s performance, changes in drawings, decisions, inventory report on completion) and handing over all those to client during handover.

Effective communication with both internal and external (supervisors, designers, clients, service providers like Pourashava, REB/DESCO, Local Administration/Local Representatives, DBR etc.)

Good management for smooth progress of ongoing projects (Maintaining safety/ security, environment at site, arranging different meeting with contractors, engineers exploring the way of cost saving, quality achieving, ensuring smooth payment with proper judgment, providing project report to supervisor/ management).

Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
