Job Description
Education
- Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Textile Engineering
Experience
-
- 10 to 15 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments
Additional Requirements
- Deep knowledge of fabric, accessories, and industry standards.
- Digital proficiency (ERP/PLM), with excellent bilingual communication (English/Bangla).
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, washing, and production processes.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation and global sourcing.
- Familiarity with compliance standards (BSCI, WRAP, SEDEX, etc).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Responsibilities & Context
Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management:
- Develop sourcing strategies for fabrics and accessories, diversifying the supplier base through evaluation and selection of partners.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers locally and internationally.
- Ensure cost optimization without compromising quality and compliance.
- Analyze market trends, raw material pricing, and global supply chain risks
Cost & Supply Chain Optimization:
- Negotiate pricing and lead times to meet production schedules, focusing on cost-effective procurement and optimized inventory management.
- Monitor cost drivers such as fabric, trims, logistics, and currency fluctuations.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering.
Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate with merchandising, production and planning teams.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials for production.
- Manage inventory levels to avoid overstock or shortages.
- Oversee logistics and shipment coordination when required.
Compliance & Sustainability:
- Ensure materials meet quality and safety standards (e.g., RSL, GRS) while driving eco-friendly initiatives.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with production and merchandising teams, utilizing ERP systems for forecasting and mentoring a sourcing team.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the sourcing team.
