Job Description

Education

  • Bachelor in Engineering (BEngg) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Additional certifications in electrical safety or utility management will be an advantage

Experience

    • 10 to 15 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Textile

Additional Requirements

  • Age 35 to 45 years

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in electrical & utility management.
  • Prior experience in garments factory is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of RSC compliance standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Automation systems.
  • Expertise in Boiler and Generator operations.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and utilities.

Responsibilities & Context

1. Electrical System Management:

  • Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of all electrical systems.

  • Ensure smooth functioning of transformers, generators, switch gear, and distribution networks.

  • Monitor load balancing and power consumption efficiency.

  • Oversee and manage the overall Electrical & Utility operations of the factory to ensure uninterrupted production.

  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of 33 KV Substation, Transformers, HT/LT Panels, and Electrical Distribution Systems.

  • Ensure continuous utility support for all production units including Washing Plant, Yarn Dyeing, Accessories, Sewing lines, Cutting and Finishing sections.

 

2. Utility Operations:

  • Manage & Supervise and monitor all utility equipment including power, gas, water, steam, boilers, air compressors, and HVAC systems.

  • Ensure continuous and cost-effective utility supply across the factory.

  • Monitor utility KPIs and take corrective actions for any deviations.

  • Optimize utility consumption to reduce wastage and improve efficiency.

 

3. Maintenance & Planning:

  • Develop and implement Preventive & Corrective Maintenance plans for all electrical and utility systems.

  • Reduce downtime through effective troubleshooting and maintenance strategies.

  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

  • Monitor and optimize energy consumption to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.

 

4. Compliance & Safety (RSC):

  • Ensure full compliance with RSC (Ready-Made Garments Sustainability Council) standards.

  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

  • Maintain proper documentation for compliance and audits.

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, BNBC, fire safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure electrical safety practices including LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) are followed.

  • Train team members on safety procedures and emergency response.

 

5. Automation & Technology:

  • Oversee automation systems and ensure efficient integration of electrical controls.

  • Implement modern energy-saving technologies and smart systems.

  • Identify and implement digital solutions for energy optimization.

  • Work with PLC, SCADA, and other industrial automation systems.

 

6. Equipment Management:

  • Supervise operation and maintenance of boilers and generators.

  • Ensure optimal performance and safety of all utility equipment.

  • Monitor equipment efficiency and life cycle performance.

  • Plan for timely replacement or upgrade of outdated equipment.

 

7. Team Leadership:

  • Lead, train, and manage the electrical and utility team.

  • Ensure proper manpower planning and shift scheduling.

  • Evaluate team performance and conduct regular training programs.

  • Develop a strong safety and performance-driven team culture.

 

8. Project Management:

  • Handle new installations, capacity expansion, and system upgrades.

  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants.

  • Prepare project budgets, timelines, and progress reports.

  • Ensure projects are completed within time and cost constraints.

 

9. Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain records of maintenance, breakdowns, and energy usage.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management review.

  • Analyze data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance checks.
