Additional Requirements

Strong technical knowledge in Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE), including the Inter-Agency Case Management Guidelines, Child Safeguarding Policy, and Core Humanitarian Standards, ensuring child-centered and rights-based programming in humanitarian settings.

Skilled in planning, reporting, and implementation, with the ability to develop work plans, monitor activities, and ensure timely and accurate documentation aligned with organizational procedures and BRAC values and culture.

Proficient in ICT-based tools such as CPIMS+, enabling effective case documentation, online data entry, and quality report production for child protection and adolescent engagement activities.

Effective communication and coordination skills, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders including government officials, CiC, SMS, and child protection actors to strengthen collaboration and service delivery.

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, ensuring decisions are made in the best interest of the child while applying critical thinking and strategic planning in complex humanitarian contexts.

Demonstrates empathy, patience, and resilience, with the capacity to manage stress, show kindness toward vulnerable children and adolescents, and take initiative to develop creative protection solutions.
Responsibilities & Context
BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.
In order to successfully implement the child protection Case Management (CM) activities in the field of HCMP, the Case Worker (child protection) is responsible for identifying vulnerable children and providing quality case management services to them. The Case worker works closely with children, caregivers, community structures, and service providers to ensure safe, confidential, and appropriate responses, while strengthening community-based protection mechanisms.

Through home visit identify and register vulnerable children, who are being abuse, neglect, child marriage, trafficking, exploited etc.

Ensure each child is able to access the necessary services including medical, nutrition, mental, legal, etc through the referral pathway and identify the needs and gaps regarding referral system.

Maintain documentation of cases using inter-agency case management forms and CPIMS+ following Data Protection and Information Sharing Protocol (DPISP) and ensure timely reporting.

Conduct BIP, BIA, and BID procedures for children to assess and determine their best interests in line with UNHCR guidelines.

Conduct family tracing to reunite children separated from their parents or other relatives, which may include liaising with local authorities and/or other child protection agencies operating.

Report to Protection focal person on the uprising trends of protection concerns and recommend steps to address or mitigate the risks.

Collaborate with community mobilisers, stakeholders including families, community leaders and partner agencies, and conduct awareness raising activities and risk mitigation sessions.

Coordinate with other child protection agencies in the camp, and participate in child protection coordination meetings.

Facilitate capacity-building activities for community groups regarding identification and referral of vulnerable children including adolescents to caseworkers and relevant services.

Conduct curriculum-based sessions and meeting to bridge the gap in case of absence of field facilitators.

Ensure all child protection initiatives align with BRAC’s policies and procedures.
Safeguarding

Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
