KNOWLEDGE:
• ECD and Child Protection in Emergencies in humanitarian setting
• Inter-Agencies Guideline for Case Management and Child Protection
• Child safeguarding policy, Core Humanitarian Standard and BRAC culture and values
SKILLS:
• Using the ICT based tools e.g. ECDIMS+
• Reporting and Planning, and Communication skill with different stakeholders, government and other organization
• Critical thinking and motivational skills
COMPETENCIES:
• Learn to manage stress to release tension and act effectively. Use supervision to talk about stress and your work
• Candidate should have ability to solve the problem to determine the best interest of child.
• Ability to find creative solutions and show initiatives to protect the children and adolescent
• Coordination and collaboration with child protection actors, CiC, SMS and government official.
• Used to with online data input and effective report production of every event of adolescent engagement activity
• The candidate should have kindness and patience as they have to deal with vulnerable children and adolescent.
Responsibilities & Context
BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.
In order to successfully implement the Play to Learn 2.0 Project’s: Advancing Scalable Solutions to Transform the Lives of Children on the Move, Case Management (CM) activities in the field of HCMP, the Case Worker (ECD) is responsible for identifying vulnerable children and providing quality case management services to them in the Rohingya camps.
Through home to home visit identify and registration of vulnerable children, who are being abused, neglected, exploited and are in risk to child marriage, trafficking, etc.

Ensure each child is able to access the necessary services (medical, nutrition, mental, legal, etc.) via the referral pathway.

Conduct family tracing to reunite children separated from their parents or other relatives, which may include liaising with local authorities and/or other child protection agencies operating.

Report to Protection focal person any identified trends or common risks and recommend steps to address or mitigate them where possible.

Identify any issues with the referral pathway and work with ECD staff and local authorities to address them.

Work in close collaboration with the community mobilisers to strengthen our relationship with the community and to strengthen the referral system.

Work with the HCMP child protection team to ensure close links between case management and our work with community-based child protection mechanism.

Submit weekly case management reports and ensure that information is kept up to date.

Coordinate with other agencies offering case management services to children on referral and transfer of cases.

Ensure all child protection initiatives align with BRAC’s policies and procedures.
Safeguarding

Ensure the safety of programme participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
